We have stayed on this site before and enjoyed our stay,sorry to say this time was a big let down , mainly because of the attitude of the wardens who were most unhelpful. Fortunately the electric took the strain. when we arrived it was raining ,and we were told we had to have a very soggy grass pitch as you have guessed it motor homes take priority which is wrong we all pay the same membership charge and pitch fees. If you are a pitch up and stay camper you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately a lot of the pitches on grass seemed to become muddy very quickly obviously owing to the previous weeks rain. The site has direct access to the North Devon Cycle Network, which links the site to the Tarka Trail at Baunton. Parking is £2.70 per 2 hrs and you can walk and walk and walk more along the golden sands which are flat stretch for mile after mile. Having read some previous reviews I was very apprehensive. The site is both quiet and peaceful out of peak season yet offers a vibrant family site at other times of the year. A 12.5% reduction on all published prices will be applied to your booking when you arrive and pay for your stay on site. Please note traffic congestion in Braunton. We were blessed with lovely late summer sunshine and enjoyed days on Woolacombe and Croyde beaches. For golfing enthusiasts, Woolacombe & Mortehoe which is 2 miles from the caravan site. In short great clean site, well managed and good for dogs and families, afflicted by the same mindless individuals as anywhere else. Situated in the beautiful Torridge Valley between the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, Rosemoor is a gorgeous garden surrounded by woodland. Did not use toilet/shower facilities so can’t comment. Granted you may be disappointed if you can't get a hardstanding pitch but plenty of others appeared to prefer them. From the east, leave the M5 at junction 27. On arrival our grass on our pitch was about two weeks growth long and I asked the site warden on the Sunday if it could be cut and he said maybe Monday maybe Tuesday I don’t know. we were given no choice being told our 1500kg caravan weight did not warrent a hard standing pitch ,funny then when we had pitched up a hard standing that was free when we arrived was allocated to a similar weight caravan . We have experienced no Queues even though this COVID carry on continues! A sharp contrast to the private site across the road which looked immaculate (like pitching on someone's lawn) maybe staff numbers are an issue, I don't know but overall - I don't think I would return and would look at other options in the area. This is a nice site good toilet block and washing facilities and we will be back .I am obviously not the only member to voiced concerns over the state of grass pitches, so please get the wardens to cut the grass to a suitable length . Home. The stay was only marred by the behaviour and attitude of the small minority and those teenagers, who for some reason are fascinated by hanging around a toilet block, in the evening. I think the club needs to get back to basics with good pitches with short grass up to date electrical bollards, update to first class toilet facilities and maybe a bit of customer care at reception. We took our electric bikes and rode the tarmac’d path all the way. Once on the trail, the walk or cycle down to Ilfracombe is wonderful. Site is on the right in 0.5 miles. There is access for motorhomes. Family-friendly and a great all-year-round visit, the gardens are as inspirational to amateur gardeners as they are to nature lovers and plant enthusiasts. We were a bit apprehensive arriving at Willingcott given earlier reviews but we needn't have been worried. Very peaceful. The tarka trail runs behind the site And there is a gate to exit the site onto it. Stayed at end of September. Site looking a picture, even with the recent weather. The closest is Tesco Extra in Ilfracombe, about 3 miles from the site. There are sensible measures in place to ensure good hygiene but we never had any issues getting access to facilities as a family of five. A major disappointment with our stay was the manner with which some totally ignored the Covid-19 restrictions. Grass pitches were the only ones available when we arrived. 5. We did see the warden on the mower once but even when he'd passed it was difficult to see where the grass had been cut. The weather has been relatively kind to us enabling us to visit the nearby Woolacombe and Ilfracombe as well as Saunton Sands and Croyde beach. I needn't have been in regards of the site, the staff or anything in their control. Willingcott Club Site is a spacious site divided into separate areas by Devon Banks. There is a path and cycle route directly from the site and we walked into Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and also cycled on NCR 27 to Braunton and picked up the Tarka Trail along the River Taw into Barnstaple. Why not walk from the site along the old railway line to Ilfracombe, or along the coast path? But we found that the local area, especially Woolacombe, has become very commercialised compared to our children hood memories. This is a Tourer Explorer site, where kids become nature detectives, artists, bug collectors and outdoor adventurers. You can enjoy surfing at nearby Woolacombe, which is known as one of the best blue flag beaches in the country. Only our second caravan club site stay and enjoyed the location, with easy access to a number of excellent beach's. 5 of

It’s less than three miles from the sands of the Blue Flag Woolacombe Beach which is perfect for surfers, and it’s also a stone’s throw from the Mortehoe & Woolacombe Golf Club. Featuring a picture gallery of the Swansea Blitz, Indoor WW1 trench, quiz sheets for children and gift shop selling ID cards and ration books. Had a lovely welcome when we arrived, everything fully explained . One thing we would have liked to have seen was hand sanitiser placed at the service points. Woolacombe is quite a walk from the site and before our arrival they had experienced quite a bit of rain so the verges and grass walking down was muddy. 5.
